Pre-Operative Instructions
To help ensure a safe and smooth procedure for your pet, please follow these important pre-surgery guidelines:
No food after 9:00 PM the night before surgery.
Water is allowed until one hour prior to your scheduled arrival time.
Surgery drop-off is between 8:00 AM and 8:45 AM on your scheduled surgery day.
Please allow at least 30 minutes for the check-in process.
Post-Operative Care
Proper aftercare is essential for a safe and comfortable recovery. Please follow these instructions carefully:
Offer a small amount of food and water the night of surgery.
All prescribed medications can be started the morning after surgery, unless otherwise instructed.
E-collar must remain on for 14 days to prevent licking or chewing at the incision site.
No bathing or licking the incision area during the 14-day healing period.
Limit activity for 14 days — no running, jumping, or rough play.
If your pet is a female in heat at the time of surgery, keep her separated from other pets for 14 days.
Your pet will stay with us for the day. You’ll receive a call or text with a pick-up time once your pet is in recovery.
Dental Procedure Instructions

A suture removal appointment will be scheduled for 14 days post-surgery to remove half of the sutures.
The remaining sutures will be removed at 21 days post-surgery.

Declaw Surgery Instructions

Your pet will stay overnight following surgery for monitoring and pain management. You will receive a call or text with a pick-up time the next day.
Post-Operative Care
Proper recovery care is essential for healing and comfort after a declaw. Please follow these instructions:
Offer a small amount of food and water the night your pet comes home.
All prescribed medications can be started the morning after returning home, unless otherwise directed.
Restrict activity for 14 days — avoid jumping, climbing, and running.
An e-collar may be prescribed to prevent licking or chewing at the paws.
Do not use regular litter for 14 days. Use only Yesterday's News, shredded paper, or other non-clumping, dust-free alternatives to avoid contamination and irritation of the surgical sites.
Cystotomy Surgery Instructions

It is normal to see slightly blood-tinged urine for the first 1–2 days following surgery. This should resolve on its own. If bleeding persists or worsens, please contact us.
If a stone was sent for analysis, results can take up to 10 days to be returned from the lab. We will contact you once the report is available to discuss dietary or medical recommendations.
Gastrotomy, Enterotomy & Anastomosis Surgery Instructions

Post-Operative Care
These surgeries involve delicate work on the gastrointestinal tract, so careful aftercare is essential. Please follow these instructions closely:
Offer small amounts of a bland diet (such as boiled chicken and white rice or a prescription GI food) for the first 7 days after surgery.
Slowly increase the portion size each day as tolerated.
After 7 days, gradually transition back to your pet’s regular diet over 2–3 additional days unless otherwise directed.
All prescribed medications can be started the morning after surgery, unless told otherwise.
Restrict activity for 14 days — no running, jumping, or rough play.
An e-collar should be worn for 14 days to prevent licking or chewing at the incision site.
No bathing or licking during the 14-day healing period.
Watch for signs such as vomiting, diarrhea, bloating, lethargy, or lack of appetite — and contact us immediately if any of these occur.
Cherry Eye Surgery Instructions

Offer a small amount of food and water the night of the procedure.
All prescribed medications, including any eye drops or ointments, should be started as directed.
Restrict activity for 14 days — no rough play, running, or jumping.
An e-collar must be worn for 14 days to prevent pawing at or rubbing the eyes.
No bathing or facial grooming during the 14-day healing period.
The surgical site may appear swollen for several days following the procedure. This is a normal part of healing.
Cherry eye may reoccur, even after surgical correction. If you notice the gland re-protruding or new eye irritation, contact us promptly for evaluation.
